The Green Rice has been part of the Subok neighbourhood since 2011! What began as Mama Ong’s home-based food business at Simpang 181 has since grown into our family restaurant at Unit 1, Simpang 470, Jalan Subok, Kampong Belimbing, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, BD2917.
You’ll find us next to Mahamas Convenience Store, with Glashaus Coffee located upstairs. If you’re visiting for the first time, look out for our distinctive green branding!

- Tuesday: Closed
- Wednesday – Thursday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, then 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Please note that we close from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Fridays for Friday prayers.

Our signature green pandan nasi lemak is made with rice cooked in fresh pandan juice and coconut milk, giving it its naturally green colour and delicate pandan fragrance. It’s a little different from the usual nasi lemak, but just as comforting and familiar. The cheerful green colour catches the eye, making it a favourite with both children and adults.
Every serving comes with the nasi lemak essentials: sambal, crispy anchovies, fried peanuts, refreshing cucumber, boiled egg and your choice of fried chicken or other available accompaniments.
Our green rice is also part of Mama Ong’s story. What began with her homemade cooking in 1988 has grown into the family restaurant we are today, sharing a much-loved local favourite with families and friends, one plate at a time.
